Ray S. Williams

WILLIAMS

Ray S. Williams, age 94, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 in San Antonio. He was born in Jewett, Texas on March 4, 1920. He married the love of his life 67 years ago and was a committed and loving husband and father. He devoted his time to his family, the Boy Scouts of America, coaching, and his church through service as a trustee at Coker Methodist Church and Cemetery. A World War II veteran, he landed at Omaha Beach, was attached to Patton's Third Army, and fought across Europe to include Bastonne and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a hard-working, well-respected and gentle man. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. Ray is survived by his wife, Marjorie Williams; sons, Jim Williams and wife, Pam; Jerry Williams and wife, Nancy; daughters, Natalie Leibold and husband, Eddie; Cindy Fortson and husband, Marc; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Rev. Marc Fortson will officiate. Interment (with Military Honors) will follow in Coker Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coker Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
