Laura Mae Baker-Merritt, of Boerne, Texas. Her only child held her hand as Laura’s soul departed from this earthly existence on July 30, 2022 at the age of 67 years.

Born at home, October 26, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Carol M. McBride Baker and David M. Baker. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, class of 1973. She worked for Tesoro Petroleum in San Antonio, Texas as a Safety Analyst until retirement.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, David and Carol Baker; sister, Neva Jean Baker; former husband, Douglas Allen Merritt, Jr., and nephew Micah McCosh.

She is survived by her daughter, Callie Mae Merritt and her boyfriend, Trevor Lindner of Comfort, Texas; three brothers and their families; Phillip D. Baker and his wife Shelly of Mt. Vernon, Arkansas, Douglas R. Baker of Sunrise Beach, Texas and William Scott Baker and his wife Charolette of Converse, Texas; eight nieces and nephews; Dorrie L. McCosh (Mike Smile), Joseph Quintana, Cole Baker (wife Tashia), Amanda M. Baker (Mike Wallis), Jennifer A. Baker (Chris Maraschino), Ashley R. Baker, Kevin S. Baker (wife Esmeralda) and Steven E. Baker (wife Clarissa); eight great-nieces and nephews; Declan O. Baker, Elliott B. Baker, Payton J. Ivey, Layla A. Ivey, Cora B. Baker, Theadosia E. Baker, Adeline N. Baker and Bennett-Grey E. Baker.
