Last Farm Standing on Buttermilk Hill
Voelcker Roots Run Deep in Hardberger Park

Last Farm Standing on Buttermilk Hill

Coker Cemetery has a rich history. You will find many familiar family names on the cemetery headstones: Jones, Maltsberger, Isom, Sandau, Gordon and Voelcker just to name a few. Max and Minnie Voelcker, the former owners of land where Hardberger Park is located, are buried at Coker. Gayle Brennan Spencer was commissioned by the Voelcker Trust to write the book, The Last Farm Standing on Buttermilk Hill chronicling the lives of Max and Minnie. The book includes many stories about the Coker Settlement.
