EDNA MAE GERFERS1914 - 1989Bio GERFERSEdna Mae Gerfers, age 75, of San Antonio, died Monday, December 18, 1989. Mrs. Gerfers was a member of Coker United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was a lifetime resident of San Antonio. Mrs. Gerfers co-owned and operated Gerfer's Store with her late husband from '46 to '77. It was a gathering place for the Community until it was purchased by the City of San Antonio as part of an expansion program for the airport. Survivors: Daughter, Peggy Blucher, San Antonio; daughter, Connie Emmick and husband, Bob, Dallas, TX; daughter, Dorothy Scyrkels and husband, Bill, Denver, CO; son, Clarence A. (Butch) Gerfers, Jr. and wife, Kay, San Antonio; grandchildren, Rebecca Leader, Bob Blucher, George Blucher, Rick Blucher, Rob Emmick, Steve Emmick, Laura Scyrkels, Brad Scyrkels, Clarence Trey Gerfers, III, Andy Gerfers and Joe Gerfers; great grandchildren, Chris Leader and Lauren Blucher; sisters [-in-law] Elsie Walsworth, Nell Autry [and Bessie Sonley] both [all] of San Antonio and Dorothy Gerfers, Stamford, TX; numerous nephews and nieces. SERVICE The Rev. Norman Roe and the Rev. Harold Sassman officiating. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and sons-in-law. For those who desire, Memorial Contributions may be made to Coker Cemetery Association or Coker United Methodist Church, 231 E. North Loop Road, San Antonio, Texas 78216. Interment in Coker Cemetery.
