GULICK
William “Bill” Richard Gulick, born November 8, 1943, in San
Antonio, Texas died peacefully, surrounded by family on April 27, 2024, at the age
of 80.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his step-daughter Mary Moran.
Left to cherish his memory: the love of his life Patsy; his three daughters,
Deanna Adamsen(husband: Wade Adamsen), Kathryn Skinner(husband: Eugene Skinner),
and Aracelia Alamo-Guzman(husband: Jesse Guzman); his step-son Tommy Moran; his
eight grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, Sabrina, Patryk, Celia, Carlos, Malaya,
and Arianna; his eight great-grandchildren, Madalynn, Jocelynn, Landon, Nolan,
Cassidy, Emilia, Zoe and Caleb; his former wife Loretta Hinojosa, and his beloved
younger sister Linda.
Bill was raised on a dairy farm in Blanco, Texas. On his seventh birthday, his
family welcomed his sister and lifelong friend Linda, who celebrated most of their
birthdays in San Antonio with Bill. After graduating from Edison High School, he
served as an Aircraft Crew Chief, working on F109 aircraft for the U.S. Air Force.
Upon exit from the military, he began his career at City Public Service, where he
retired as a Journeyman Senior Mechanic.
Lovingly known as Bill or Paw, he was the cornerstone of support and wisdom to his
family. Always encouraging the passions and talents of his daughters, sons-in-law,
and grandchildren, he could often be heard saying the words “I’m proud of you kid”.
He was the kind of father with the wisdom to know what each of his children needed
and the kind of teacher who pushed them to be their best (and laughed at them when
they needed to laugh at themselves).
He was an active and passionate mason, serving as past Worshipful Master from
2002-2003 at Davy Crockett Lodge. Bill served as commander of the Shrine Hospital
Corps in 2009. He also served as treasurer of the Alamo Heights Order of the Eastern Star until earlier this year. He was dedicated to the fellowship and charity of his
masonic affiliations and will be greatly missed by his masonic kin.
Bill was a devoted Christian. He raised his daughters in the church and as the loving family patriarch, was always called upon to pray over his family for every holiday.
He attended Coker Methodist Church, where he will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
