SHAFER

It is with great sadness that Linda K. Shafer, 71, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on May 22, 2022. She was a loving mother and grandmother and wonderful friend to many.

Linda was born on January 28, 1951 to William and Kathryn Collier of San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Highlands High School, she went on to work for Datapoint as Manager of the Executive Communication Center where she got to travel the world, Texas A&M Agrilife Extension and ending her career as Executive Director of the San Antonio District Dental Society where she worked with many dentists who touched her life and became more than just co-workers, they were her friends.

Linda was married to David Zigmond and Les Shafer who both preceded her in death.

She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter, Shannon Zigmond Starr, her son-in- law Peyton Starr, her grandson Logan who meant the world to her as well as her dog Allie. Also, her sister, Carolyn and husband Roy Johnston and nephews, Adam and his daughter Sloan, Aaron and Jennifer and their daughter Avery as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Linda loved her dogs, gardening, travel, and going to her favorite beach house in Rockport with her family where she enjoyed sunsets, golf cart rides and listening to Logan play guitar on the dock.

A celebration of Linda’s life was held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at La Hacienda Scenic Loop in San Antonio.

Memorial donations may be made in Linda’s honor to SNIPSA San Antonio, a dog rescue center - www.snipsa.org.
