Evelyn Mae Stoddard nee DeKunder born October 11, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas went to be with the Lord on June
18, 2015. Her parents were Arthur Rinehart DeKunder and Pearl Harrison DeKunder nee Coker.
She was preceded in death by Jeron Curtis Stoddard, Sr., her beloved husband of 60 years, and founder of the Stoddard Construction
Company in San Antonio, Texas. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers; Ed, Alfred, and Bill DeKunder, and two
grandsons, Logan Doell and Norman Anderson.
She is survived by son Curtis Stoddard and wife Sandra, daughter Carol Caillouette Riley and husband Jim, son Keith Stoddard and
wife Carolyn, son Robin Stoddard and wife Lindey, son Gary Stoddard and wife Linda. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren,
28 greatgrandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She and JC married April 27, 1940 in Floresville, Texas where the then county clerk was John Connally, later to become Governor of
Texas. God blessed our family with a wonderful Mother. She was a homemaker and stay at home mom most of the child-rearing years,
but later worked and retired from Motorola in Seguin, Texas.
She and her husband JC lived on Lake Placid and provided many memorable times with their children and grandchildren enjoying the
lake and many delicious holiday meals. Everyone was welcome at their house.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday,
June 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in
Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
